I am a huge advocate of volunteering so I decided to get into one of my favorite causes. The farm to table idealogy and sustainable foods. I think that childhood obesity is something that we need to end now, and it wont end without education about nutrition and participation in growing/access to local food.
Not only that but I love the farmers market. So I volunteered at the sustainable food center of austin. Which houses the austin farmers market program. The only organic farmers market in central austin! There are about four others in the city, but not all of them can vouch for being completely organic.

This year I am going to take initiative, stop only doing for myself but others as well.
I will be off to scotland soon, I am really excited. I hope all my plans work out for the best. I did have a small set back in the plans, the people (person plus another) who invited me backed out of going after inviting. So I have to make a whole new route of attack on the country. Well lets put it this way, my mother is still going and so is my brother, she just decided that she didnt want me there. The way she put it was, she could not find any hotels to accomodate three people, only two. Therefore I would have to find my own places to stay by myself along the way.
But you know, i have always been an explorer. I have always traveled my own path. I find calm and serenity in being alone. I am very excited to go and i know that i will have a great time.

It will not stop raining. Ugh, its really gross outside and i really want to talk seidi to the dog park and red bud island. I am also getting sick, which is the usual.

the beginnings of shrimp diavolo
then some miso and kale soup

so easy to make

add any veggies you want, i like kale
or maybe from chayote and cilantro?

everyday I try to cook something, well okay. it ends up being 5 times a week.
but I am really excited I have so much ocean perch and trout in the freezer. i havent had trout in AGES. so any suggestion in cooking?
